I was recently in line at a cheese store in Woodbridge at lunch time waiting for some parmigiana cheese to be grated when an elderly Italian gentlemen behind me struck up a conversation. One thing led to another and before long he started to explain how rich he was due to his smart real estate investments.
He only owned a house but was tickled pink with how much it has gone up in recent years. Naturally, he asked how my real estate was doing. I told him I gave up my real estate some years ago as part of my divorce settlement and never got back into the Toronto market.
